Can I write for DC comics?
If you prove your work has an audience and your comics sell, then they may reach out to you. The only direct comic submissions to any DC publication at this point is Mad Magazine’s Strip Club though if your goal is to work with DC proper, then you’re better off writing, producing, and publishing your own comics.
How do you become a DC comic artist?
Most comic book artists will earn an art degree with an emphasis in drawing or illustration, where they learn various techniques of studio or fine art and graphic design. An alternative to attending a two-year or four-year college or university is attending and earning a degree from a private art school.
How do you become a comic writer?
A degree that focuses on creative writing of whatever kind is an asset, and any work that involves writing, editing or graphic design of any type will be very useful experience that translates into the language of comics. Most importantly, you need to be able to tell the kind of story suited to a comic.
Are DC Comics OK for kids?
For starters, Marvel, like DC, see their canonical superhero books as primarily aimed at older readers. Never mind most of DC and Marvel’s popular heroes were created with kids (or an all ages audience) in mind. Most Big Two superhero comics also aren’t kid-friendly in content or price.
